Because it is located inside the door panel, the window regulator is vulnerable to rusting and corrosion because water can get inside the door panel. This can weaken the window regulator as well as the lines and cables that make it work. Busted power windows are not something you should take lightly especially if you do not have your own garage. Aside from the inconvenience of a dysfunctional window, a damaged window can also lead to more serious problems.
